The 21st century demands a new breed of expert–one with the skills necessary to develop new models for managing and brokering information in the digital environment, in education as well as in the public and private sectors. 

Possible participants in the CIP Certification Program include, but are not limited to, the following: course developers and managers, information technology professionals, instructional technologists, special and public librarians, secondary and post-secondary librarians, secondary and post-secondary administrators and instructors.
